Bridge Street Bridge

When the historic bridge carrying Bridge Street over the CSX Railroad in Somerset County, N.J. was in need of major rehabilitation, IEW Construction Group was the successful bidder on the contract let by the New Jersey Department of Transportation and funded by the Federal Highway Administration. In order to minimize disruption to this very busy rail freight corridor, the project required the lifting of the bridge from its abutments so that the historic restoration could take place and the bridge could be returned to its original alignment after the rehabilitation was complete. A temporary bridge was provided in the near proximity during construction so local road traffic was not impacted.
