NJDOT Route 37 Scour Repair

Due to the rushing waters of Hurricane Sandy, the sand and sediment protecting the piers under Route 37 was washed away, exposing the pilings up to 12’. If more scour were to occur, it could undermine the structural and foundation integrity of the bridge. Under the NJDOT’s direction, IEW Construction Group pumped grout to shore up the piers and assembled CONTECH’s AJAX scour protection product and arranged it around the piers to protect from future scour erosion.
