Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission Milford Montague Bridge

The Milford-Montague Toll Bridge is the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission’s most northern bridge. The 1,150 foot long bridge is a four span continuous steel deck truss structure. The project included the construction of 2 new toll plazas, replacement of the precast-concrete deck panels and deteriorated steel support stringers, and the existing steel was blast-cleaned and painted. Due to the length and height of the bridge, containment was a large, intricate part of this project. The Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, which encompasses the bridge, hosts a busy summer season. IEW Construction Group was able to complete the project during the harsh Pocono Mountain winter months through several snowstorms to open the toll bridge in time for the outdoor recreation season.
